I adore the mix of colors and objects on the plates. |

Isn't this wall stunning?! I love it! |
I recently saw a post on
apartment therapy (one of my favorite sites to visit!) and I was so surprised by the majority of the comments! Lot's of people 'hating' on the idea of plates hung on the wall!? I love that we are all different and that we don't need to like the same things. But, this is one way to decorate that I love. I've always had a thing for bowls, plates, platters, etc... I guess it just fits me to put some porcelain on my wall. I love picking up stray pieces at tag sales, good will, etc... It's such an inexpensive way to decorate. I once had a party guest accidentally knock down one of my wall plates and in two seconds I had the broken plate cleaned up and a new plate in the old one's place. He was so relieved. I don't think I've ever paid more than a couple of dollars for a plate. You can change it so easily. Add different colors into the mix. I guess I lean toward a more English way of decorating and that can seem old fashioned or messy. However, even with modern furniture pieces I would still love the mix of something as warm as a platter hung on the wall.

These are some of my own plates and platters...including my 1950's mini platters. I just love their colors! |

I have and love plates on my walls but my daughter hates them on her walls. Its OK to like different things.
Wendy,
I love your blog. I hope you remember me from Woodbridge days. We're moving out your way to nothing special house on a fabulous lot. I consented to the house on one condition, that I can have a session with WENDY!
We'll be remodeling the kitchen and hopefully a few other things. I'd love to get in touch with you!
